Soft and Shabby Chic Sympathy Card

Hello Ribbon Lovers!  It's Kathy here today with a card that none of us ever wants to have to make.  I think sympathy or condolence cards call for extra soft colors and textures.  Sadly, I recently had to make one of these for a friend who lost a dear family member.  There's nothing like a hand made card to say, "I'm thinking about you, and I care."

I just love the way this Pink Center Stitch Burlap Ribbon adds soft texture to this sympathy card.  Tying a thicker ribbon like this is so much easier when using the Zutter Bow-it-All ToolIvory burlap string adds just the right finishing touch beneath the vintage button on the right.

I created this 5" x 6" cutaway card with one strip of 12" wide x 6" wide paper.  By scoring the paper at 4" and 8.75" I was able to create a cutaway front card with an inside pocket.

To make the pocket, simply add a punched edge on the outer edge.  Then glue only the top and bottom flaps to the card base.

This pretty tag is topped with more of the Pink Burlap Center Stitch Ribbon.  I've also tucked in a tea bag and a honey stick for good measure.

I hope I've shared some ideas you can use in your own crafty adventures!  I'd love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Cheerio,
kathy

So Very Blessed Planner Spread with Ribbon Tassel

Hi friends! Linsey here today sharing my latest planner spread for November! This month is filled to the brim with so many good things and I'm feeling the blessings of them all! I have been enjoying putting together my monthly planner spreads and making a matching ribbon tassel to go along with each month. This month's spread features lots of things that evoke gratitude and love. I hope you like it!
I used my Clover planner, which I love for just about every single month and I used papers, die cuts and stickers from the Vintage Blessings collection. I made a cute baked pie planner clip and mini flower and lace planner clips. I also added some cute accents in the pockets off to the side, including a couple burlap tags, ticket tabs and more planner clips. Now, on to my favorite part of making my planner pages, my handmade ribbon tassel charm!
I love the November Ribbon Club Assortment-Country Holiday Collection so much and used several strips of ribbons from this collection for my tassel. Specifically, I used a strip each of: 3/8" Plaid Raspberry Swirl, Diamond Satin Amethyst, 3/8" Soft Pine Satin with Gold Metallic Edges, Mineral Ice Delicate Stitched Satin, 5/8" Tulip Taffeta Ribbon, 3/8" Vanilla Satin with Gold Metallic Edges, 3/8" White Ric Rac, Lyndsey White Crochet Lace and Debra Natural Crochet Lace. This ribbon assortment is so great for this month and will also take you right through December and the New Year with all the lovely colors! Love the value with the Ribbon Club Assortments
Thanks so much for stopping by today and letting me share my November planner spread with you! I hope you're inspired to add some ribbon to your planner, too! As always, happy crafting!

Merry Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends and Tuesday to you all!
Today's card was created for Really Reasonable Ribbon. using the Country Holiday Ribbon , Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon from this months Ribbon Collection. I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the ribbons in this months assortment, but then again I love every months assortment so that is an easy one :) I chose the blue as it goes perfectly with my card for today.

Stamps and design paper are all from the Scandinavian Holiday set from Club scrap. I did stamp the deer, Merry Christmas and snowflakes from the stamp set. Next the design paper was cut from the 12 x 12 sheet of design paper. Back blue card stock was stamped using a blue ink and snowflake stamp. I added some embellishments and beautiful Really Reasonable Ribbon in a Delicate Stitch blue ribbon.
I love how simple this card turned out, and normally I love a lot of layers and such, but for this one I tried to keep it simple, and for me this is simple, kinda clean and simple....hehehehee
