Friends Mini Album

Hello, everyone!  Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog today as I (Karen) share a sweet mini album I created using lots of great OA supplies and Really Reasonable Ribbons goodies.  I started my mini album with some black chalkboard envelopes that I cut using my Zutter binding machine to add the spiral binding.  I covered each page of the mini alnum with October Afternoon patterned papers and embellishments, and adorned them with lots of luscious Really Reasonable Ribbons that I will explain as I showcase each lovely page of the mini album.  This will be long, so please bear with me.
The cover has patterned paper, a white rub-on sentiment (friends) on a chalkboard sticker.  I framed the sentiment with a length of Debra Natural Crochet Lace on each side.  In the upper right-hand corner, I added a bow that includes Lipstick Red Seam BindingBlack Seam BindingSolid Red Baker's TwineBlack Licorice Baker's TwineDebra Natural Crochet Lace, and a vintage black button with a "diamond" in its center.  I also added one Red Open End Rose and two Ivory Sweetheart Blossoms.  I also tied lengths of Debra Natural Crochet Lace on the binding rings.
The second page has a journalling card, stickers, and a button that has a length of both Natural Burlap String and Green Apple Baker's Twine tied into a little orange button that's topped with a small pearl sticker.  Another great thing about these envelopes I used to create my mini album is that each envelope opens so that you can tuck in photos, notes and memories of all sorts.
The third page was created by adding a strip of patterned paper to the right side and a sweet "Friends" journalling card in the center and some phrase stickers at the top right.  On the left side, I added a strip of Debra Natural Crochet Lace, a bow made from Mimosa Yellow Seam Binding and I also added two Ivory Sweetheart Blossoms.
Page four includes another OA journalling tag, a journalling sticker, a lengh of Debra Natural Crochet Lace, and a bow tied with Cream Seam Binding that has a tiny button in its center that has a long length of Natural Burlap String.
On to page 5.....this one is pretty simple.  I used a piece of OA patterned paper, and then added a (laugh) card that I tied a long length of Green Apple Baker's Twine around several times.  I thought that perhaps this page could be used to add a photograph or some journalling.
Page 6 is a little bit more involved.  I added another cute journalling card that's attached to a cute piece of scalloped patterned paper, and has a length of Debra Natural Crochet Lace on the side.  I also added two small journalling stickers (one at the bottom and one at the top left), and two chipboard flowers by the length of lace.
Page 7 (above) is my favorite page.  I guess that's because it has to do with.....ice cream!  I added some sweet patterned papers at the bottom that are machine stitched together to create a pocket.  I added a chipboard milk cap on the left of the pocket.  Inside the pocket, I tucked in an ice cream journalling card that has a rubber malt charm, and a tiny glassine bag with stickers and a button tied with Aqua Baker's Twine, and inside the glassine bag there is a tiny tag that's tied with Cotton Candy Baker's Twine.
Page 8 has an adorable journalling card with a scalloped blue cardstock edge, some journalling stickers and a bird chipboard.  What, no ribbons?  LOL
Page 9 is a photo spot with some stickers, a heart, and some Black Licorice Baker's Twine tied several times around the ivory cardstock photo spot.  The Black Licorice Baker's Twine can also be seen on the back cover (which I did not photograph).   This book will be such a sweet place to put heatfelt keepsakes to document friendships during childhood.  Really Reasonable Ribbon really helped me make it sweet and special.

I'm so grateful that you've stopped by today to take a peek at my mini album, and I really hope that this has encouraged you stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to check out all the fabulous ribbons, laces, baker's twine, flowers and SO much more.  We would also love to have you play along in our current Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge, and to visit the RRR Blog each day for more inspiration by the other talented Design Team Members.

Have a wonderful weekend!

A Masculine Thinking of You Card

It's the weekend! wooo hooo!
So let's get our crafty on with some fun ribbons and trims! ;)

I needed a 'Thinking of You' type card for my uncle who is very ill. In his younger days, he used to love to hunt. I was so excited when I found a wonderful page of Woodland Deer Tags over at Polly's Paper Studio. You might remember that this store was a sponsor of our last challenge here at Really Reasonable Ribbon, but Ginny, the owner, is also on the Design Team! :)  It was so easy to add one of these images to a card for my uncle.
The tag itself is tied with dark brown plaid ribbon that I lightly inked to give it an aged feel.  A little snippet of brown burlap string ties the bow and is used on the big vintage button, too.  A piece of crochet trim tops the vellum stripe banner.  The pretty flower is one of the new coral open roses in the store. I added a few touches of ink to have it match the flowers on the tag.

More detailed information about the card can be found on my blog, "Just Coffee Please..."

I do hope you will join our 'Celebrate with Ribbon or Trim' challenge!  We would love to see your latest projects! :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Fabby Shabbylicious Seam Binding Bow

Hello, Ribbon Lovers! Every once in a while, a girl needs to get her shabby chic groove on. So today I have a shabby chic Bloom card with a shabbylicious bow made with Really Reasonable Ribbon seam binding
Shabby Chic Bloom Card for RRR 01
I've been super busy cleaning out my Closet of Shame and the Closet of Shame 2.0 because we have finally sold our big family home and are preparing to downsize into a "just the right size" rancher. In the process, I have unearthed some wonderful treasures, like these Basic Grey chippies and paper. This is an ancient collection (Porcelain) but when I paired it up with Polly's Paper Studio Large Floral Journal digi art, it felt all brand new and shiny!
Shabby Chic Bloom Card for RRR 03
The wonderful thing about seam binding is that you can custom dye it to match any paper. Just smear some Distress Ink onto a non-stick craft sheet, spritz with water until little beads form, and then crumple your ribbon up into that lovely, inky pool. For this bow, I used a combination of Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose and Spun Sugar Distress Inks. Then when you use your heat gun to dry the seam binding, keep crumpling it with your fingers (just as if you are scrunching your hair with mousse). Then tie it into a bow using your Zutter Bow-it-All Tool. When you're done, you have a fabby shabbylicious seam binding bow to add to your project!
Shabby Chic Bloom Card for RRR 05
I love seam binding so much that I bought a whole spool of cream seam binding from RRR when I first joined the team many moons ago. It is the perfect choice for making fabby shabbylicious bows! Especially when you top it with a perfectly pink magnolia blossom. Ooh la la!
Bloom Card for RRR 04
The inside of the card is finished with more papers from the collection and a pretty pink and green sticker. I hope you'll try making your own shabby chic seam binding bows. If you're not comfortable with custom dying your seam binding, you can find it in a rainbow of colors in the RRR store.

Thanks for stopping by!

From Me and Bunny

It's Wednesday...and I hope you are having a wonderful day!   It is my day here at RRR.   With the fickle weather we have been having.....try a day of almost 60 degrees...snow is melting.....by night fall it is a blizzard...I am craving some Spring.  I had this sweet vintage spool in varying shades of blues and decided to create one of my altered spool pieces.  I used lace blue seam binding along with Tea roses in mixed blue tones which are fabulous!  They are new to the store.  I love them.  I  just love this sweet old image...and that bunny!  I added mini blue buttons around the edge for some added interest.  Well that is it for me....enjoy and happy mid week to you!  Cherry

Luck of the Irish

Hi there crafty peeps!  I am back today to share an adorable vintage St. Patrick's Day card using papers and digi images from Polly's Paper Studio and gorgeous ribbon from the Really Reasonable Ribbon store.

I used two different patterned papers for my background matting.  I then tied Emerald Plaid Ribbon around the top and tied a cute bow.  I layered several digi images to create a focal point to the card popping a few up on foam squares.  It is hard to see on camera but I also added a abundance of Clear Wink of Stella to the images for some subtle sparkle.  I hope you enjoy this fun green themed Lucky card.  Have a wonderful day!

Pocket Folio

Hey there Peeps! Well I'm here today to admit that I have a problem. I am a chronic list writer. Any little scrap of paper is fair game to scribble on. Is the list the problem? Nope. Losing the lists is the problem. When you write important information on something that looks like trash.....guess what's gonna happen? Yep you got it...lost lists.  So I created a hardcover pocket folio to tuck in all those precious little scraps.

I've already put it to work as you can see!
Really Reasonable Ribbons~Satin Swirls on Red, Satin Swiss Dots on Turquoise, Sheer Organza with Satin Center Black.
I'm using my Crafter's Companion supplies. For a full list please visit me at:

Okay that's all for me. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Let Your Light Shine

Hello, friends of Really Reasonable Ribbon and thanks for stopping by.  It's Karen Letchworth here today with a sweet card I created using lots of great ribbons and trims in shades of purple.  I don't use purple a whole lot, but it sure turned out nice, so I was glad I gave it a try.
I started with some patterned papers that I inked on the edges, and machine stitched together.  Then, I added a rub-on sentiment, a small sticker, and a metal bird.  The fun part was the pretty bow.  I ran a length of Lilac Seam Binding across the width of the card, and then tied a bow using two lengths of it along with one length of Cream Seam Binding, and a length of Violet Burlap String and Wheat Solid Baker's Twine.   I topped the bow with one small Dark Lilac Open Rose and two small Ivory Open Roses.   The bow cluster has a tiny little tag (laugh) that's held by a miniature silver safety pin.  You may also notice that I added a little "ribbon tab" on the upper right corner of my card.  That tab includes a small snippet of the three following trims:  Melissa Natural Crochet LaceLilac Seam Binding, and Purple Plaid Ribbon.
That's about it, and this is exactly why I LOVE Really Reasonable Ribbon.  By adding a sweet bow and flowers from the sweet shop at Really Reasonable Ribbon, I can turn my simple cards into a real work of art.  Their wonderful products quickly jazz up your creations, and instantly take them from "Zero to Hero".....LOL

AND.....don't forget about our fun challenges on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog where you can play along and share your projects.  We LOVE seeing your projects, and we thank you for joining us.  There's also lots of great inspiration on the blog every day as well as special offers and lots of great new products.

Thanks for stopping by!

Best of Luck

Welcome back.  I'm excited to share with you one of the beautiful ribbons which is two-sided in February's Ribbon Club Month assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.com.

Do you know that St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner?  It's Thursday, March 17th,  Thia beautiful green and yellow ribbon assortment would be perfect for those St. Patrick's Day projects or cards.  Really Reasonable Ribbon also sells each ribbon separately from the club assortment as well.
This gorgeous two-sided ribbon is the 3/8" Crosshatch on Emerald Satin Ribbon.  It has the green and white print on one side and the solid emerald green color on the other side.  WOW!

I used my Zutter Bow It All bow maker to make this bow.  This time, I formed one bow and then cut the ribbon to form the other bow and tied the green ribbon around the printed ribbon.  I used the 3/8" Scor-Tape to stick the bow and ribbon onto the card.  Bonnie has a great tutorial to do these bows without cutting the ribbon and would suggest watching her U-Tube video https://www.pinterest.com/pin/175499716706586900/.
If you really love ribbon and would like to have a wonderful assortment of ribbons sent to you automatically each month, just join the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club! Monthly ribbon club assortments are selected and pre-packed to reflect a specific theme, color, or holiday season. The assortments vary from month to month, but an average assortment has 9 different ribbon styles and consists of 16-18 yards of ribbon.  The total price of each monthly assortment is $9.50 and includes the shipping/handling fee too!

Scrapy Land.com dies used:
Sue Wilson Designs:  Expression-Best Of Luck, Delicate Garden Frame and Tag, Gemini Die-Orion
Sue Wilson Designs:  Rambling Blossom

Would enjoy hearing from you.  Please leave a comment and if you have questions, I will reply or just e-mail me at lehill@mtida.net.  Thanks again for stopping by!!!

It seems like most of you favor 3/8" wide ribbon.  You may have noticed my favorite is the 5/8" width.  I'll have to work on some Bow-it-All videos using 3/8" ribbon really soon.

Now, on to our winner who will receive the February Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The winner will have 48 hours to contact me by clicking on the contact button at the top of the blog and sending me your full name and US shipping address.

Here is your random number:  4
Timestamp: 2016-02-17 15:26:01 UTC

Congratulations Gail!

Thank you the hop and all of the lovely DT creations - Answers to the questions - The width of ribbon that I favor the most is 3/8 inches - I prefer solids over prints unless the print is on both sides of the ribbon - which make better bows - I like Gross Grain ribbons the best. Have a lovely day

Now if you didn't win, don't worry!! We will be 'hopping' each month so you'll have another chance to win soon! We hope you stop by and visit our blog often.

Be sure to check out our current challenge here. We'd love to have you play along with us. Have a super day!

Come Ride With Me

Hey ribbon fans! I know you are going to look at this post and think, "gosh, Valentine's Day is over."  but I'll say right back at ya, "isn't it always time for LOVE?!" grins!

but really, wouldn't you know that when my youngest son came home for a surprise visit this past weekend, he also needed a Valentine's Day card for his girlfriend ASAP! ;) no matter how old our kids get, it's just like back in elementary school when they tell you on the drive to school that oh yes, they need 4 dozen cupcakes RIGHT NOW! ;)

so I got busy in my craft room. really busy. like, the glue might have still been a little itty bit wet when she came by to pick him up to drive him back to school! but it was finished and she liked it. whew.....

It's times like these that I am thankful for having a nice supply of ribbons & flowers from the RRR store and access to a place like Polly's Paper Studio, our challenge sponsor. I was able to print out the Retro Valentine Card digital file, add some great mulberry flowers like the cottage rose, sweetheart blossoms, and other roses to the patterned papers and heart doily. some great saved snippets of the Sweetheart Striped grosgrain stapled to the upper corner are topped with a vintage button. Red burlap string tied around the card base adds the finishing touch.

Easy peasy!  The great thing is that this card design can be adapted for ANY holiday or occasion. give it a try! :)

For more detailed information, please head over to my blog, "Just Coffee Please..."

Keep Moving Forward

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  I have an inspirational card to share with you today. Daily life is filled with obstacles and challenges both great and small.  But if we will just keep moving forward, we will achieve our goals.  The climb is often steep, but the view from the top is mighty sweet!  With this in mind, I created a layered get well card for a friend who is facing some tough hills to climb.  I used Graphic 45's World Fair collection and fabby ribbons, of course, because no project is complete without ribbon!
I love the punchy colors of this collection, and was thrilled to find goodies in the RRR store that matched so well.  These gorgeous yellow trellis roses were lightly sponged with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and then clustered with frilly Cosmos Daisies and some sparkly gold spiral stamens.
Sometimes, burlap string is the perfect ribbon choice!  These flower clusters were so bodacious, I didn't want to try to compete with them.  But the card needed some sort of ribbon element to tie things together.  (Groan..what a terrible pun!)  I selected navy, antique gold, and orange burlap string as a complement to these fancy flowers.  I tied the bow on my Zutter Bow-it-All and then used the tip of my scissors to tuck the bow in under the floral cluster.
I did the same thing on the fold of the card, and I love the way this simple string bow anchors those flowers to the card.
The inside of the card is loaded with fun surprises.
This pocket has lots of goodies tucked inside.  I added dimension to my fussy cut hot air balloons by layering them with foam pads. And a touch of natural burlap string makes that chipboard button stand out in the crowd.

I threaded my vintage buttons with yellow burlap string, just for fun!

And speaking of moving forward, it's time for me to do just that!  I hope you were inspired with today's post!

Thanks for stopping by!

kathy
